How To Install Fonts On A Mac

August 31, 2017

1. Open the downloaded file. Using Safari, look in the top-right corner of the browser window and click the Show Downloads button. In the pop-up menu that opens, click the magnifying glass icon that corresponds to the downloaded font. This will open up the folder in Finder.

2. Double-click on the font to open the installer program, Font Book. The name of the font will end in .ttf. With the version I purchased, I only had one font to install. You may see fonts for Bold and Italic versions of the font. If so, you will need to install them one at a time.

3. Install the font. Click the Install button at the bottom-right of the window.

You should see that your new Samantha font has been added to the list of fonts in Font Book. To the right of the list of fonts, there is a preview area where you can scroll through all the different glyphs. There are so, so many of them. And they are all awesome!

That's it. You're all set installing the font.
